Hundreds of students in Rockland County took part in a walkout Wednesday afternoon at Ramapo High School to speak out against immigration enforcement.
Students gathered outside the school, held signs and waved flags during the demonstration.
Some students said they were there to support family members. “I’m here because I have family who came here from another country, to sacrifice things for me. And they came to this country to do nothing but good,” one student said. Another added, “I’m out here to support my parents. I want them to have freedom.”
Students in Spring Valley and Nyack High School also held demonstrations on Wednesday.
