How to get paid to keep New Yorkers safe after snowstorm
The New York City Department of Sanitation is looking for emergency snow shovelers to remove the snow and ice citywide from area like crosswalks, fire hydrants, side streets and bus stops.
The department says it recruits shovelers by the day as needed.
Pay starts at $19.14 and can go up to $28.71 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in the United States and capable of performing heavy physical labor.
