A rare cross-party endorsement has come from a hotly contested congressional battle in the Hudson Valley.

Maine Democratic Rep. Jared Golden has endorsed Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in his reelection campaign.

Golden said Lawler has been a true partner and a friend to the fishing families who Golden represents.

Both are members of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.

Golden is not seeking reelection.

News 12 reached out to Democratic candidate Cait Conley for reaction but has not heard back.
