The rest of the overnight will be partly cloudy and humid, with lows in the 70s.
Heading into the second half of the weekend, Sunday will be hotter and more humid. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and low 90, with feels-like temperatures well into the 90s. The first half of the day will feature sunshine and clouds, with a chance for some evening showers and storms that could linger overnight into early Monday.
Grab the sunscreen and sunglasses as the UV index will be high. The majority of the day is decent for outdoor activities, just stay mindful that the evening could feature a spotty storm or two. If a storm does pop up, it has the potential to have lightning and some strong gusts.
The News 12 Storm Watch Team continues to keep an eye on the tropics. Hurricane Erin exploded into a Category 5 early Saturday with winds of 160 mph and gusts of 190 mph. This is not only the first hurricane of the 2025 season, but the first major hurricane (category 3 or above) and the first category 5 hurricane of the season as well. As of Saturday evening, it is churning near Puerto Rico and could potentially impact New York City beaches midweek. While the path does still look to stay far offshore, the News 12 Storm Watch Team will continue to monitor waves and wind that could peak midweek.
