Pleasantville offered plenty of winter fun during its shop and stroll holiday lighting event at Memorial Plaza on Sunday.

The celebration featured live music, hot cocoa, photo booths, and an ice rink for skating. Organizers say the event is a win-win for local businesses, with many offering exclusive deals to visitors.

"The skating rink behind me so far has been a great success. People have been loving it. Just something fun to do," said Michael Newman, superintendent of Parks and Recreation. "People can come out, walk around, and check out the different stores."

Later in the evening, the village lit its Christmas tree, signaling the official start of the holiday season.
