Two Kings Food Market locations in New Jersey are set to close early next year, according to the company.
The Kings locations in Hillsdale and Whitehouse Station are expected to close by Jan. 2.
A spokesperson for Kings said both stores have leases that are ending. The company said it is also looking to focus its resources on other locations.
According to a New Jersey WARN notice, 122 employees are expected to be laid off when the Hillsdale store closes.[nj]
The company said it will try to move affected employees to other Kings locations.
The closures mean Kings Food Market will have 14 stores remaining in New Jersey.
The company said it regularly evaluates its store locations and real estate to make sure it is positioned to serve customers and operate efficiently.
