Multiple firefighters were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries after battling a fire early Tuesday morning on Ellen Court in Hillsdale.

The Hillsdale Fire Department posted an alert around 3:27 a.m. saying crews were actively working a second alarm fire and more details would follow later.

According to Hillside Mayor Michael Sheinfield all of the firefighters have been discharged from the hospital. No one suffered any serious injuries, and the residents escaped without harm.

Arson investigators from the Prosecutor's Office responded to the scene and initiated a joint investigation.

Fire and police crews at the location declined to comment.
