If you're looking to toast to mystery and spooky, there's a hidden speakeasy in Wallingford where drinks are more like potions.
Bones and Botanicals is tucked away and intentionally discreet, welcoming guests into a dimly lit, intimate space that feels otherworldly form the moment you step inside.
Owner Sarah Glidden says the aesthetic isn't accidental.
"It's definitely like a witchy vibe," Glidden said, "Wallingford has an excellent history, this is where the last accused witch in Connecticut was tried. To have that witchy vibe, kind of fits."
Glidden, an herbalist by trade, brings that passion into every drink she creates. All syrups, infusions and tea blends are made in-house using fresh herbs and natural ingredients.
"I'm a big believer in fresh ingredients," she said, "I make all of our syrups from scratch, do all of our infusions and take my tea blends and infuse them right into our spirits."
The menu includes both cocktails and mocktails, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience.
Part of the allure is the speakeasy-style entrance. Guests need a passcode to get in, and it changes every week.
With whimsical decor, seasonal flair and drinks crafted with intention, Bones and Botanicals offers a cozy escape that feels especially fitting during the any season.
“Everything is made with love and intention behind it,” Glidden beamed.
