New Jersey filmmaker Kevin Smith is giving fans a rare opportunity to skip the long road from the Quick Stop to Hollywood.
Think you’ve got the swagger of Jay and the comedic timing to match? Smith is giving aspiring actors a shot at the big screen, with up to two roles in his next movie up for grabs through a casting contest hosted by Decentralized Pictures.
In a
recent post on Instagram, Smith said the roles are open to people of all genders, with no professional acting experience needed.
“You wanna be in it? It’s this simple. All you have to do is read some comedic lines, delivered in the patois of Jay, the guy I’ve been standing next to both professionally and personally for 30 years,” Smith said.
After that, it will be up to fans of Decentralized Pictures to decide “whether you’re worthy enough to be in a Kevin Smith picture.”
“Spoilers: you are,” Smith said. “At least, the bar is very low.”
The two lucky fans cast through the contest will have their travel expenses covered for the production shoot. Submissions are due by Nov. 15. For more information, visit
