A fire brought a large emergency response to Yonkers early Tuesday morning.

Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to 80 Riverdale Avenue around 7:15 a.m.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke on several floors when they arrived.

The fire was knocked down about 15 minutes later.

The response led police to close Riverdale Avenue between Prospect and Vark streets.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
