A heavy fire tore through a multifamily home early this morning in Hartford, Conn.
Crews were called to 19 East Street at 2:09 a.m. for reports of a structure fire, according to the Hartford Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions in the occupied building in the Clay Arsenal neighborhood.
Crews made entry and searched all floors to ensure residents were out of the home. One resident was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
No firefighter injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office, and Special Services is working with the American Red Cross to help displaced residents.
