Greenwich police "winged it" while rescuing an injured owl Tuesday morning.

Police say they were contacted by concerned residents who spotted the tiny owl in the roadway.

Officers blocked traffic to keep the owl safe.

They then placed it in a box so it could be transported safety to be cared for.
