The Bridgeport Rescue Mission kicked off its annual Great Thanksgiving Project Wednesday at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport.
Dozens of volunteers donated their time and smiles to hand out turkeys and food bags to families in need.
Organizers say the focus remains on ensuring that vulnerable individuals, including seniors and those with disabilities, have access to a joyful Thanksgiving.
People are encouraged to drive or walk into the distribution lines for the remainder of this week on Thursday and Friday to receive the packages.
