Long Islanders love their coffee, and one local shop in Sayville is brewing up more than just caffeine.
Since opening in 2022, the Sayville Bean Coffee House has been the neighborhood spot.
The coffee shop has been serving creative seasonal drinks, fresh food and a cold brew that customers say keeps them coming back.
"Long Islanders love their coffee; if there's a place you want to open up a coffee shop, it's Long Island, more specifically Sayville," said Andrew Bell, manager of the Sayville Bean Coffee House.
Bell has spent 15 years in the coffee industry, watching trends change but says what matters most here is the experience.
"We're here to make moments, not just to make a cup of coffee. This is a cool place to connect with people," said Bell.
The beans are roasted locally at East End Coffee Roasters in North Babylon, keeping things fresh week after week.
From breakfast bites to specialty drinks, Bell says the goal is simple: give people a place they want to stay awhile.
"The Sayville community has been nothing but supportive throughout this whole process. And I have loved every second being here," said Bell.
And customers say, you can taste that passion.
"It's cozy here, the employees are fantastic, the coffee is delicious, I have a vanilla latte, and it's phenomenal," said Shaun Fleisher, of Holbrook.
Bell says seeing familiar faces walk through the door every day is what keeps him going, proof that sometimes, the perfect cup of coffee comes with a sense of belonging.
