State Sen. Ryan Fazio, of Greenwich, secured the Republican nomination for governor of Connecticut Saturday, with 92% of the delegate vote at the party's convention at Mohegan Sun on Saturday.
Fazio bypassed a primary following the withdrawal of the previous frontrunner, New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart, who pulled out amid a financial probe.
Fazio, 36, will face the incumbent Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont in November, centering his campaign on tax reduction and economic affordability.
