Gov. Ned Lamont has secured the Democratic nomination for governor after officially accepting the party’s endorsement.
Lamont is slated to lead the Democratic ticket in November.
Lamont won the Democratic endorsement for governor, earning 75% of the vote.
Joshua Elliot, his opponent for the nomination, earned 25% of the total votes.
With that share of the vote, Elliott automatically meets the threshold for a primary against Lamont in August.
Should Lamont win the race for governor against
Ryan Fazio, he will enter his third consecutive term as governor of Connecticut.
