Gov. Phil Murphy has announced the pardon of 33 individuals and the commutation of sentences for three women, giving them a second chance at life.
"Every single one of these individuals has already proven that they are committed to getting their lives back on track. In fact, each one of them have been living outside of the justice system for at least 10 years. Some of them are veterans, others are active faith leaders or local business owners and in recent years all of these individuals have distinguished themselves as upstanding citizens who are dedicated to giving back to their communities," Murphy said.
The governor made the announcement at the State House in Trenton, highlighting the individuals' commitment to rehabilitation and community service.
