Flags across Connecticut are being flown at half-staff today in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Gov. Ned Lamont made the announcement as part of the national observance, which pays tribute to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
"Every single person in our state and our country benefits from the protection of police officers," Lamont said. "We owe it to them to show how grateful we are for their service and how much we respect them."
