The community in Greenwich cut the ribbon on a brand-new space designed to help fight the teen mental health crisis.

“This gives families hope," says Greenwich United Way CEO David Rabin. "There isn’t a person I talk to either indirectly or directly who has not been touched by this epidemic."

The new clinic will be housed inside Greenwich United Way at 500 West Putnam Ave. and will be backed up through Yale school of medicine physicians.

“Health care in a community really needs to be in partnership with their community," says president of Greenwich Hospital Diane Kelly. "We came together and said how do we solve this together as a community for our community."

Experts say the new program will include cognitive-behavioral group interventions, medication management, and more for over 400 kids each year.

"We can’t wait to start referring through all our partner agencies and referring kids who need the help the most," says Rabin.

More than $5 million was raised for the clinic with about $1.5 million coming from Greenwich United Way.
