Gas prices continued to climb this weekend as oil costs rose to levels not seen in years.
Oil prices went above $100 a barrel for the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
President Donald Trump said the increase in gas costs is a small price to pay compared with achieving safety and peace. He also said prices may ease once Iran’s nuclear threat is over.
In Connecticut, drivers are seeing higher costs at the pump. AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.33. Last week, the average was about $2.91, and a year ago it was $3.04.
