        'Lower the better.' Gas prices continue to fall in Connecticut

        The average price for a gallon of gas in Connecticut is $3.04 per gallon today, compared to $3.34 per gallon at this time last month.

        Average gasoline prices in Connecticut have fallen nearly 5 cents per gallon in the last week and 30 cents per gallon in the last month, according to GasBuddy.
        “Like a month ago, I used to fill it up and $30 was the regular price," Norwalk's Laura Martinez says. "Now I’ve been noticing that it will be only $25, $26 to fill it up."
        The average price for a gallon of gas in Connecticut is $3.04/g today, compared to $3.76/g at this time last year.
        "Everybody pays less," Norwalk's Miguel Vila says. "Less out of pocket, people can put that towards…food and housing."
        GasBuddy says the cheapest station in Connecticut is priced at $2.64/g.
        "The lower the better," East Haven's Mark Balisciano says. "I'm hoping it goes in the right direction – down."
        The national average for a gallon of gas is currently $3.17/g, and experts say a sub-$3 national average could come later this fall.
