Fairfield artist and 2022 Ms. Connecticut Julia Isabel says she has shifted her focus from the crown to the canvas.

Isabel -- who moved to the US from Ukraine to attend Sacred Heart University (class of '21) -- is currently showcasing her solo exhibit, "The Image of the Sound," at The Rye Arts Center.

Isabel's latest collection explores the powerful intersection of classical music, physical movement, and painting.

Isabel describes her creative process as "a transformative experience", sharing that she feels like she's "channeling divine energies" when she paints.

Due to its popularity, the exhibition has been extended through next Friday.

Additionally, 30% of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization's youth arts career programming, the artist says.
