South Shore businesses collecting donations for victims of California wildfires
yesterdaySome brave souls took part in Yorktown's annual Polar Plunge at Sparkle Lake on Saturday.
Organizers said the event is now in its fourth year. They estimated that about 25 to 30 people took the plunge.
Money raised from the event will go toward a variety of local groups, according to founder Bob Giordano.
Organizers hoped to raise around $3,000 to $5,000 from the event.
