A Freehold Township High School teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a student under the age of 18 in multiple Monmouth County municipalities, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Jesse L. Heubel, 37, of Englishtown, is charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and five counts of sexual assault stemming from alleged sexual acts that prosecutors say occurred in Freehold Township, Englishtown, Manalapan Township and Red Bank.
According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation by the office’s Special Victims Bureau, along with the Freehold Township and Manalapan police departments, found the alleged conduct began in November 2025. Investigators say Heubel engaged in sexual acts with a student who was under 18.
Prosecutors said the charges were filed in multiple municipalities because the alleged sexual acts took place in different locations.
Heubel turned himself in and was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending court proceedings.
In a statement Nicole P. Hazel, Superintendent of Schools said: "Upon being notified of the staff member’s arrest, the Board of Education and members of the Administration have been in complete cooperation with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the law enforcement and State agencies that are involved. We have taken all appropriate steps to protect and safeguard our students, including removing the individual from their duties and all District property pending the determination of these charges."
