A Freehold man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a child and eluding in connection with a stabbing in Jackson Township and his arrest in Edison, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

Jaden Thompson, 19, entered the pleas Monday before Superior Court Judge Kenneth Palmer, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Jackson Township police went to the Paragon Apartments on Larsen Road on Nov. 27, 2025, and found a woman with a stab wound to her abdomen. A 19-month-old infant was found uninjured in the area where the stabbing occurred, prosecutors said.

The woman was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where she was treated and later released. Investigators determined Thompson was responsible for the stabbing and had fled in a black Hyundai Sonata, according to prosecutors.

Edison police located the vehicle the following day. Prosecutors said Thompson sped away when officers tried to stop him and eventually crashed the car. He then tried to run away but was taken into custody nearby.

Thompson has been held in the Ocean County Jail since Nov. 29, 2025.

Prosecutors said they will seek a 10-year state prison sentence on the attempted murder charge, subject to the No Early Release Act, and five-year sentences on each of the child endangerment and eluding charges. The sentences would run concurrently.

Thompson is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 23.
