The Dress Boutique at Levittown School District gave students the opportunity to find their perfect prom dress.
Everything was donated by the community, including new dresses from upscale bridal boutiques. There are also shoes, jewelry, purses and makeup.
“Shopping online and in store for dresses are so expensive,” said high school sophomore Charlie Calderon. “This event, it’s so cool. It's so awesome, and I find so much stuff. And they're so size inclusive that I always find something that fits me and looks great on me.”
Volunteers from the school district say they love helping the kids pick out their favorites.
“It's so nice when we see that student get that special dress or that item that they felt like was made for them, and they can't believe that it's free,” said school social worker Lisa Dimitri. “And so they're just really in awe, and it's so special.”
The Dress Boutique is open to other members of the community as well. It’s their 10th annual event, and it’s growing every year.
