A former worker in an Ulster County school district has been sentenced in a student sex case.

A former school employee was sentenced for having sex with two students at Saugerties High School.

Reid Kappler is set to serve six and a half years in prison.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to rape earlier this year.

Prosecutors say he worked as a custodian and wrestling coach at the school between 2023 and 2024.
