Police say a former Naugatuck school teacher was charged with harmful communication with a minor.

They say 54-year-old Michael Harte texted with a 15-year-old student for several months.

Harte is no longer employed by the Naugatuck School District, according to police.

Police say Harte will be back in court next month.
