Harold Clarke Sr., who was convicted last year of sexually assaulting a woman at his home, was found dead
after failing to show up for his sentencing at Bridgeport Superior Court Friday, officials said.
Clarke's body was discovered Friday afternoon at a pier near Central and Seaview Avenues on the city's Lower East End, officials said.
Police say they located Clarke using data from his GPS monitor.
The 60-year-old retired battalion chief, from the Bridgeport Fire Department, spent 34 years on the job.
Clarke was convicted late last year of sexually assaulting a woman at his home on Griffin Avenue in 2022.
Clarke could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
