Flights from Newark to Houston being delayed, canceled as Hurricane Beryl makes landfall in Texas
The Category 1 storm is the first Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. this year.

2m agoHurricane Beryl made landfall this morning in Texas, lashing the coast with winds of 80 miles per hour.
As a result of Beryl, flights to and from Houston are being delayed and canceled across the board. Out of the 24 flights canceled at Newark Liberty International Airport, 10 were coming from Houston and seven were going to Houston.
Parts of New Jersey to see rain, possible flooding
News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Mike Rizzo says Beryl's energy will mostly stay to the northwest of New Jersey, but some of it will pass through overnight Wednesday into Thursday dousing the northwestern areas of the state with a few inches of rain and a chance for flooding.
Hurricane Beryl came ashore near Corpus Christi, south of Houston. Beryl's winds, storm surge and flooding are responsible for at least nine deaths in the Caribbean.
The Category 1 storm is the first Atlantic hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. this year. It's the earliest major Atlantic hurricane in almost 60 years.
