A fire ripped through a home in Blue Point on Tuesday.
Flames swept through a home on Eatondale Avenue before 6:30 p.m. Only part of the framework of the house is left standing, due to the massive fire.
“It was the most scary thing. You realize how fast a fire can get out of control… the house was just going up like nothing. I never saw anything like it. It was devastating,” said Paulette Nicosia, who lives across the street.
The Blue Point, Bayport and other fire departments assisted. Fire officials say they responded quickly.
Fire officials say there were no injuries.
A man lives in the home, and neighbors say he was in New Jersey at the time of the fire.
The Red Cross says it has offered assistance to the homeowner.
Suffolk County police say they are investigating the cause but don't believe it to be criminal.
