More than 200 people were displaced, and 10 more hospitalized with at least two remaining in critical condition after flames broke out inside a bedroom in the C Wing of the Inman Grove Senior Center in Edison Tuesday night.

Firefighters and disaster recovery teams remain on scene this morning.

Multiple rescues were made during the intense situation.

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi tells News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo the two people who remain in critical condition following Tuesday's senior center fire are a husband and wife.

The wife is 99 years old.

The husband is 101 years old.

"Everyone else declined hospitalization so they are out. It’s just those two that are in critical condition," said the mayor. The fire did start inside, they don’t believe it was anything malicious."

There is no word on how the fire started as the investigation continues.

About 200 seniors were evacuated and will stay in local hotels until the property is restored in about three weeks, according to the mayor.
