A car went up in flames after a crash in Franklin Square Wednesday night.

Two vehicles collided on Hempstead Turnpike near Lincoln Road, Nassau police say.

One of the cars hit a pole, causing the pole to come down.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, according to police.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. and shut down Hempstead Turnpike for hours.

Police tell News 12 neither driver is facing charges at this time.
