Field Station Dinosaurs says it has started fundraising efforts to hire lawyers after the Showboat Resort failed to pay for the dinosaur animatronics after taking possession of them.
According to the
GoFundMe campaign, a formal sales contract was finalized and signed on Nov. 14.
Two initial payments cleared into the park's account - allowing the resort to transport the dinosaurs. Five days later - both payments were reversed. The park's bank reported that stop payment orders were issued on both checks.
The campaign stated that one of the resort’s officials then told Field Station Dinosaurs that the payment would be wired, but the account number did not match any account that belonged to them.
The park has tried to follow up, but no corrected payment was received. The resort is now using the dinosaurs in its holiday display.
News 12 reached out to Showboat for a statement but did not hear back.
