        FDNY: 9 injured in fire at five-story building on University Avenue

        Fire officials say that the fire started on the fourth floor of the building. A 79-year-old woman was critically injured.

        Nine people were injured in a fire at a University Heights apartment building.
        The FDNY says a 79-year-old woman who was among those rescued is in critical condition for smoke inhalation.
        The fire started at 5:05 pm at 2552 University Ave. More than 100 fire and EMS personnel responded.
        The fire marshall is on scene working to determine the cause of the fire but right now they say it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
        The American Red Cross is assisting families who are displaced.
