A new NTSB report says low visibility caused a fatal train crash in Burlington County on the River Line last October.
The train, carrying 41 passengers, hit a tree on the tracks early in the morning. A branch pierced the windshield and struck Jessica Haley, a 41-year-old light rail operator and single mother of three.
Haley had worked for NJ Transit for nearly 20 years. Her family is suing NJ Transit for her death, officials said.
As a result of the investigation, dangerous trees and other hazards along the River Line will be removed.
