There was an emotional reunion today between a mother and the doctors and nurses who saved her son’s life.
Maria Carlin was driving her 4-year-old son, Jack, to the hospital because of difficulty breathing when he stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest.
Nurses and doctors at Huntington Hospital quickly stabilized him before he was transferred to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center.
His mother tells News 12 her son would not be here today if it wasn’t for the heroes at the hospital.
“I went in carrying him, and I had angels sitting waiting for me. I came in with no warning and for them to have done everything they did within a matter of minutes, I hope people understand how remarkable that was,” said Carlin.
Specialists at Cohen’s Children Medical Center diagnosed Jack with a rare condition that caused a hole in his throat.
It has now been corrected, and Jack is back to living his life.
