A family of nine is without a home after a fire tore through a three-story house in Sheepshead Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
The FDNY says flames broke out around 1:30 p.m. at a home on East 22nd Street.
Video from the scene shows heavy smoke and fire crews working for about an hour to get the blaze under control.
The Red Cross is assisting two adults and seven children with temporary lodging and emergency needs.
Neighbors were seen helping clean up debris and sweep away water from the property.
The homeowner, who briefly spoke with News 12, said he was heartbroken over the loss but grateful that everyone made it out safely.
