A fallen tree crushed a car this morning and halted traffic on southbound Route 9A in Mount Pleasant.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Route 117 by Pace University at the border with Briarcliff Manor. The person inside the car was removed, but officials have not released the condition.
Crews worked to remove the tree and clear the crushed vehicle. The roadway reopened around 10:15 a.m.
Drivers had been urged to avoid the area until the cleanup was complete.
