I will fall back into news 12 as we go back out to Cranford this morning. Our Lauren do is checking out the 17th annual scarecrow stroll through downtown. Good morning, Lauren. Good morning. I know. Say that three times fast. The scarecrow stroll in Cranford, Karen. Good morning. Good morning downtown Cranford. You're the director. This is amazing. And who's our friend this morning? This is our scarecrow called the Bat Map that was made by Resident Arthur Inglesby. He's a great contributor to the scarecrow stroll and I think it's a great edition to our downtown for Halloween. Oh, resident with this. He said he, he's very and again, we're grateful for his support. That's incredible. You know, so how many scarecrows we have over 115 all throughout the downtown. So people can stop by any time until October 31st to walk around and check out everything Cranford has to offer and you have a lot to offer. Look at all these events you have. We have so many events all throughout the month. Um A lot of events this weekend including Stomp, chomp and Roar, which is a dinosaur event and me Walla where we're gonna have complimentary apple cider. So we're always trying to do things to have people celebrate Cranford and again, see all the businesses and everything that we have to offer and there's some prizes to the best scarecrow, right? You could vote, you can vote. Um, every name tag has a QR code so you can vote or go to our website Downtown crafford.org. And um you know, the, the creators will have the opportunity to win a downtown Crafford gift card downtown for always blows everything out of the water. This is amazing, Karen. Thank you so much. Spend on a scarecrow as we fall back into News 12 returning to Cranford this morning. That's right. And our Lauren De is in front of the Cranford theater, checking out the 17th annual scarecrow stroll. And are you in the mood for something scary, Lauren. Ok. So the Frank F series that the grand for theater starts on Friday. The first movie up is Pet Cemetery. It sounds so cute, but apparently it is extremely scary. This scar behind me. Very scary. Residents of credit for here you guys made this Natalie Harley morning, right? So Santa um essentially uh Terri Fire three came out this this past week and, you know, I want to be part of the scarecrow stroll, so I figured why not put him in it? And, you know, last year I did Freddie Krueger, I did Michael Myers. But yeah, these are all homemade Diy. I pretty much do them, you know, every Halloween season I fill my yards up and I invite everybody to come out because I got over 20 life size props of all your famous horror slashers. So I mean, please come check it out. I have it this Friday So you ever say you give out candy? I give out candy. I mean, yeah, I get those big Costco bags. I probably go through like two of them a weekend and see every day, every weekend. So, what's your favorite candy? Ok. Those are my favorite too. I love that. And do you like Halloween? Tell everyone what you're gonna be for. Halloween runs with the family. Everyone loves Halloween and Natalie. Where do you store all these? That's the biggest question we get and we give a whole new meaning to a creepy basin because they're in my laundry room, in the basement. They're behind the walls. They, all their heads are on the, yeah, it's just everywhere all year. Oh, yeah. Well, that's great. And you know what? It's, it kind of feels like Christmas time out here too. It's very cold. Right. It's definitely cold enough to be Christmas. What? Happy Halloween to everyone. It's Halloween. We're falling back into News 12 here. Craford Lauren de News 12, New Jersey. Look at that.

Fall back into News 12 as we go back out to Cranford this morning, Lauren do is checking out the 17th annual scarecrow stroll through downtown and Lauren, you're talking to a family who's been doing this now for a couple of years. Yeah, exactly. And meet the railway River Reaper here. We have the family that made it Manny Thomas Lila Janine. What is your inspiration behind this, Manny? This is incredible. So we wanted to make something original this year and we landed on some kind of tall pumpkin man. And then we just thought about the river and we wanted to incorporate the river in the town, loves to fish and surrounding towns love to fish and Broadway River Reaper just kind of came into our heads and we ran with that. How did you make this? It's a lot of spray foam, spray paint. Uh My brother actually did the head. We work on it together every year. He's been messing with that in his garage for the last uh I don't know, six weeks or so. I had to get it down here, Thomas. Um We put it on uh dolly two dollies and I started rolling into downtown. You roll this from your house to downtown. Yes, that is amazing. And Lila, you helped your dad put this together. Yeah. Um, so I helped paint some of, I helped spray paint some and I glued on a few bugs and I helped me and my dad work together to make this, um, the sign. Janine. How does this make you feel? I mean, you must be so proud. Oh, yeah, I mean, I don't do much but Manny and his brother Brandon, it's just so fun watching them get to be creative and put this together and the kids and all our friends help and it's a really fun part of the holiday season for us. I see you got yourself a nice warm cup of coffee. Got a love life. I love credit for having so much fun. Here's J what's your scarecrow called Flo Group Crow? So cute. And his many. Yes, you made this all by hand. Yes. My mother and I made this together. This is our fourth scarecrow this year. This, this for this event, the 17, I mean, like, how did you do? I, I mean, it's actually we like to try to stick to a natural material. Our first year was the harvest goddess and then we've kept going. Then we did Bob Moss instead of Bob Ross and now on to Flore Crow and lots of uh hey, yeah, hey, here and uh burlap and corn and all of these plants, we started collecting plants by the, I think by the end of August all the way into the over. But yeah, we try our best to use as many natural materials as possible. I think the only thing we got help with was the nose you have. If you miss the nose, you miss the. So where is your opinion? Inspiration come from? Craford. Really? The downtown. It's such a community town that we try to think about what the kids would like, what the families would like last year. We were down here for the opening and there were hundreds of people. So and so many kids just really enjoying the event. So we try to our morning show producers, a picture of them. They were all minions at time. Was Halloween party. Of course. What a great idea. So great. So we're looking at that. You know, you can vote for the car and the director here of downtown Craford. What a great event that you put out for the community. I tell everyone at home what, what it's all about. So you can vote for your favorite scarecrow. We have over 100 15 downtown and you could vote until October 31st. Um And we just love people coming to visit our downtown and seeing our wonderful businesses and you could check out News 12 scarecrow, which is right in front of Track five coffee. I am. Everybody has to come by and check it out. You cannot miss it. We are right in the corner here is Cornelius guys. This is our new from scarecrow complete with a press badge. News 12 fan back. And you got to check out this pumpkin amazing artwork there. And K the commissioner, you want to welcome News 12, New Jersey to the best scarecrow. You started it 17 years ago. How this Yes, I did. I was driving through um, Pennsylvania after visiting my son at college and I saw a little scarecrows on display in this tiny little place and I thought, oh, we can do that. And the very first year we had more than 100 scarecrows. Best part is it's residents, businesses, organizations in town. It is absolutely truly a community event. We love it. We met some of those all morning, hanging out with you, Karen all morning and we have the mayor here. Love your t shirt, by the way, New Jersey. Right in the skeleton there. I mean, how does it feel that you have such a great event in your town? Oh, we love it. I mean, Halloween, no one does Halloween better than Cranford. And our downtown is really the heart of Cranford. It brings everyone together. We have these wonderful vibrant towns and for Halloween, like for the scarecrow roll, this is people, businesses, folks coming together to make our life, make our lives a little more festive and bring people out. And so it's, it's just wonderful. I do want to say we have one person to thank for all the modern madness. It our own Karen. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. We have so much to offer in Craford. We hope everyone comes to visit us through October 31st to vote for their favorite scarecrow.
