A Fairfield police officer was injured by two suspects on a moped while making an arrest.

Police say they responded to a call on Brentwood Avenue when they noticed two men matching the description traveling on a moped.

The moped swerved around a car and then accelerated toward an officer.

The officer was knocked to the ground but still helped arrest both suspects.

They say the two men were seen taking items from a home.

Marquis Craig, 28, and Jayvion Baker-Coleman, 20, face multiple charges, including assault of a police officer.

Police say the officer suffered multiple cuts and remains out of work recovering.
