Flights at Newark Liberty International Airport are being disrupted Monday morning because of an equipment outage, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA issued a ground stop for flights departing other airports for Newark until 11:15 a.m. The agency said there was a medium, or 30% to 60%, probability the ground stop could be extended.

Flights departing Newark were also delayed an average of 60 minutes as of 10:37 a.m., with delays increasing, according to the FAA.

The FAA did not specify in the advisory what equipment was affected.
