Law enforcement will be present as a precaution and preventative measure at the White Plains New Year's Eve celebration Wednesday night
Public Safety Commissioner David Chong told News 12 on Wednesday that there will be multiple checkpoints and attendees must enter through to attend the event.
He also recommended bringing small or clear bags.
No drones will be permitted at the event.
"We're going to have what we call 'the extra heavy package,' and that means we are going to have a tremendous amount of security, and that is not because we have any threats against the City of White Plains," Chong said.
For those interested in attending, the viewing area for the ball drop and fireworks is around Court Street and Mamaroneck Avenue.
