Eviction leads to the discovery of 30 cannabis plants inside Fordham apartment
An eviction in Fordham on Monday led to the discovery of over two dozen cannabis plants, the New York City Sheriff's Office says.
The discovery began when a Marshal was executing an eviction Monday afternoon inside an apartment at 2701 Marion Ave. During the incident, police contacted the sheriff's office for assistance and a team was dispatched.
Upon their arrival, 30 plants were seen in an apartment grow house. The sheriff's office says it conferred with Con Edison, FDNY and the Department of Buildings for any additional violations.
DOB inspectors issued multiple OATH/ECB violations to the property owner, including work without a permit, obstructed egress and occupancy contrary to department records. They also issued a partial vacate order to the apartment unit.
