Many residents are still cleaning up after the Fourth of July weekend storms.
A town in Essex County is allowing gas-powered leaf blowers to be used for storm cleanup. The Township of Millburn made the announcement because of the significant amount of debris left by the storms.
The temporary suspension of the seasonal restriction on gas-powered leaf blowers is intended to assist residents, landscapers and contractors with storm cleanup only.
They will have until the end of the day Friday to use them.
Seasonal restrictions will then resume, and the use of gas-powered leaf blowers will not be allowed again until after Labor Day.
