        Have you dreamed of having gorgeous marble countertops but don't want to spend a fortune? News 12's Christine Insinga shows us how to do it for less than $200 in this week's Escape to Home.
        Full video: Learn how these homeowners created faux marble counters
        Materials:
        Giani Marble Countertop Paint Kit (follow their directions - everything is included)
        Instructions:
        1. Clean counters;
        2. Paint white - 2 coats;
        3. Practice veining (watch YouTube videos, get real marble inspiration pics);
        4. Vein the counters. Feather, pull, dab. Create areas of thicker and thinner, lighter and darker veins;
        5. Dab veins with the highlighter provided to soften areas that are too uniform or dark;
        6. Apply the self-leveling epoxy topcoat. Be generous. A thicker coat will last longer without chipping. This is when your counter will look like a finished counter - glossy, glasslike, and smooth.
