An employee at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo received an electric shock Tuesday while working with a fence, according to a statement from the zoo.

A zoo official said a staff member was maneuvering a fence with chain link when lightning struck in the area.

They say the employee experienced contact from the electrical discharge.

The employee went to the hospital but was not seriously injured.
