Eight people are without a home in Inwood after a fire tore through a three-story house on Monday.

About 70 firefighters responded to the fire on Jeanette Avenue around noon, fire officials say.

They extinguished the fire in approximately 40 minutes.

The Red Cross is now assisting the eight people displaced.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
