An East Farmingdale worker cut off three of his fingertips in a food dicing machine accident on Wednesday night.

Authorities say it happened as the L&S Packing Company employee stuck his hand inside the machine to clean it.

The 45-year-old was hospitalized and treated for the serious injury, according to police.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
