A dump truck slammed into a Gloucester County home Tuesday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital and destroying the house.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Woodbury-Glassboro Road.
Police say the truck hit a utility pole before crashing into the home. One person was inside at the time and was injured along with the driver.
Neighbor David Keating said he heard the homeowner calling for help and stayed with him until paramedics arrived.
Rescue crews freed the driver nearly 3 hours later. The owner of Zeisloft Trucking said the driver, a long-time employee, suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel.
The 73,000-pound truck was loaded with concrete sand. The impact shifted the house four feet off its foundation, and crews later demolished what remained.
